KIMBER GARLAND

Events Co-Chair

Kimber Garland strongly believes in the premise of people over politics. She is a strong proponent for universal human rights and is passionate about enacting change to help the millions oppressed by the world's worst authoritarian regime. TIM LEE

President

Trustworthy, reliable, fun. These are just a few of the ways members describe this invaluable part of our team. Tim Lee is our newly elected President for the 2018-19 academic year. Tim believes it is our duty to minimize the harm and prevent further atrocities by helping North Korean defectors safely flee the regime.

JACK NOLAN

Vice President

Jack Nolan is the vice president of Liberty in North Korea at IU. As VP, he works with the president to invite speakers to campus, manages the club's funds, and ensure the committees run smoothly. Jack joined Liberty in North Korea because the human rights situation in North Korea is one of the worst in the world yet often overlooked. He believes that it is important to place people over politics and fight for the basic human rights of all peoples.

OLIVIA GOAD

Education Co-Chair

With knowledge that millions of North Korean people are suffering today, it is Olivia Goad's goal to make an impact now. By fundraising and actively spreading awareness of the human rights abuses in the country, Olivia hopes to empower people to do the same. As education co-chair, she is partly responsible for keeping LiNK members updated on relevant current events, creating educational materials (such as presentations and thought-provoking exercises to help members stay educated), and providing the club with additional resources it needs to achieve its goals of spreading awareness and raising funds for North Korean refugees. Olivia hopes to engage both members and nonmembers in a conversation that promotes action for peace and justice.
